 Fun Facts :)


  • My eyes change colors with my mood. If I cry a lot, they turn green. If I’m happy, they turn blue, and if I’m bored or neutral, they stay grey.
  • I’ve taken piano lessons since I was about 10 or 11 and I just recently stopped playing.
  • I was homeschooled until my freshman year of high school. Not online schooled, but actually homeschooled. My mom was my teacher and we ordered books every year.
  • I work at the Albany Izzys and I love all my coworkers. However, my favorite coworker is a guy named Fernando, who works at Sizzlers as well as being a server at Izzys on weekends.
  • I live with my parents and my little sister, who is a freshman and still homeschooled.

Photo Story: Mike Dixon

Mike Dixon has been the pastor of Albany Missionary Baptist Church for about 25 years or so. I chose to use him as the subject for my photo story because people really only see him for his pastor role unless they know him quite well. I chose to take this opportunity to get a look into his day-to-day life when he’s not behind the pulpit. When he’s not hunting or hiking or preaching, he is sitting in his chair with his dog at his feet, watching a U of O basketball or football game.  Due to Covid-19, Dixon has been under a lot of stress in the event that he has continuously tried every solution to make it possible for the church to meet. He goes to the building every day and teaches to sets of 10 people for 45 minutes each. He is there from 8am to 7pm every Sunday in order to get through every group of ten people until the church is allowed to meet again in full capacity.  Mike absolutely loves hunting. May 11, 2020 My uncle (Eddie Hernandez) is the assistant manager at the Albany Begg’s and he gave me permission to follow his guys around and shoot them during work. It worked out perfectly that it was raining, and even though there were some guys that were pretty upset about the camera being pointed at them, this is by far my favorite assignment.
