My Hometown

Image
For my landmark, I chose Takena Elementary School because it’s in my neighborhood and it was convenient for me. My sister goes every day to get one of the free lunches that they are distributing due to Covid-19.  Morgan Williams stands at Takena Elementary School every day from 11:45am-2:45pm to hand out free sack lunches to families around the neighborhood.  Takena Elementary is super crowded on May 21st, with parents bringing their kids on a walk to get a lunch or even some parents that just drive by and drop their kids off.

Begg’s Tires Free Shoot

(from left to right, Nick Chanaiew, Sean Lambert, Kyle Krause, and Eddie Hernandez) May 11, 2020 Sean Lambert taking a tractor tire off of a rim. May 11, 2020 My uncle (Eddie Hernandez) is the assistant manager at the Albany Begg’s and he gave me permission to follow his guys around and shoot them during work. It worked out perfectly that it was raining, and even though there were some guys that were pretty upset about the camera being pointed at them, this is by far my favorite assignment.

Normal Life

Every day around 11am, a group of turkeys attack my neighborhood mailman, surrounding his car and making so much noise that it’s impossible not to hear them, even if you live a block over.  Avery Hall, a freshman at Baker Web Academy, continues online classes, as if the virus never happened. Every morning, she gets up at 8 am to start her classes. Her school never took a break for the virus because they never had to learn how to adjust to the online learning atmosphere.  Quarantine might have changed everyone’s routine and it might have changed everyone’s goals and plans, but it definitely didn’t change my wardrobe! :) (yes I am aware that I have a lot of denim. I can’t help it.)
